Many drone operators deliver raw footage for you to edit yourself. Pixel Production is a video production company based between Lyon and Bourgoin-Jallieu: we write the film, combine aerial and ground footage, and handle the edit through to the final version.
Our drone pilots are certified and know aviation regulations inside out. On the day of filming, a camera operator can shoot on the ground at the same time, interview a site manager or capture your teams at work. We work in Lyon and throughout the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Drone filming in Lyon: your questions

Can you fly a drone in the city of Lyon?
Yes, within a specific framework. Since 1 January 2026, a declared professional operator can fly over public space in built-up areas, with a suitable drone and a prior declaration to the prefecture, submitted at least 10 working days before the flight. Some zones remain prohibited, particularly around airports.
Who handles the flight permits?
We do. We check the area on the official restrictions map and submit the necessary authorisation requests before filming. If the area is prohibited, we tell you at the feasibility stage.
Do you deliver raw footage or an edited film?
Both are possible. Our speciality is the edited film, combining aerial and ground shots, with colour grading, stabilisation and music.
Can you film at night, for example during the Fête des Lumières?
Yes, within the rules specific to night flights: a drone fitted with a signal light and formalities suited to the location, which we check at the feasibility stage. During an event such as the Fête des Lumières, flying over the public remains ruled out.
Can a drone fly over an event with an audience?
Flying over the public is very strictly regulated. We film the installations and the site without flying over attendees. Publishing images of identifiable people also requires their consent.
Do you film drone footage outside Lyon?
Yes, throughout the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, including Grenoble and Saint-Étienne.
